Lack of oil pressure light

After some thorough searching, I've decided to make a post.

I've recently noticed that my oil pressure warning light never comes on. I've owned my Evo 8 for about a year, and come to think of it, it's never come on - not even prior to start up.

I've tried replacing the bulb in the cluster with a new one, and a known good one (thanks 'brake' light!) to no avail. I've rifled through the FSM, and can't find a troubleshooting tree for no light, but the circuit seems simple enough; from the sensor straight to the cluster.

I'm hoping someone may be able to shed some light on this for me. If the sensor, or some wiring thereof has **** the bed, I assume the light would be on constantly, right? I suppose the instrument gauge could be the culprit, but I feel that's less likely.

Any help is appreciated. Let me know if I can provide more information.

The likely culprit is the switch.. Could be a number of things have you checked to see if its even connected? Simple things first.

Keep it simple, right... It was disconnected - thanks for your time. I have a tendency to over complicate things.
