Hey guys glad i found this awesome site ive just brought a evo 6 and my heater wont go hot does for.like 3 seconds then dead cold ive replaced the thermostat with no luck or tho.wasnt from mitsubishi but did seem to fit and the temp on it was 82 degrees like stock ? now most cars ive owned when at operating temp they sit on the halfway mark but this evo sits abit low i think can someone please tell me if this pic looks too low or not ?? Any help is much appreicated
Im not familiar with an Evo 6 but like you said, that temperature does seem low. Most vehicles operate at or slightly below half way point. Did you bleed the air out of the coolant system when you changed the thermostat? Did you have the heat turned on when bleeding the the coolant so it can circulate through the heater core? Have the radiator fans kicked on? What was the condition of the coolant that was drained before the thermostat was changed? The heater core can possibly be clogged.
