So I got an Evo9 with blown engine (picture below of when we pulled it) and Im debating on just putting an Evo 8 block. However im trying to buy a full gasket kit, and while ive found kits here They are insanely specific to the year of the car. Which obviously mating a 8 block with a 9 head years will be different...
Go with Evo 9 gaskets. You'll need the mivec gaskets.....the only issue you should run into is mivec oil feed line. I believe a couple of different companies make the line. I bought one from map.

thanks man! thats what i ended up doing. Most of the gaskets will be for the head anyways so i figured that was best
The short block i was going to get kinda fell through so im debating on spending 1300 on another low millage one... idk what they are really going for theses days.
