Cant have best and cheapest, usually one or the other, lol. Most of us are in the U.S., so the common recommendation will be Sheptrans or Jacks transmissions. Can't go wrong with either.

The best, hands down, is TRE (Team Rip Engineering). A true engineer and meticulous craftsman.
Shep will do it faster, but not better.
Those are the only two I'd consider.

I had TRE do my trans in my DSM, and while the result was good.....The customer service was horrible. I'm big on that, so it steers me away. If they've gotten better on that, then I can't argue with their product/work. Shep is great, so either is a good decision.

TRE is a one man show, so if you value someone sitting by the phone over expansive knowledge and someone assembling transmission parts to close specifications who won't answer your phone call if he's in the middle of something, I'd agree that someone besides Jon would be a better choice for you. It's been that way for 20 years, though, and of the 6 or more TRE transmissions I've had in DSMs and Evos, they all more than fulfilled my toughest expectations.

thats awesome, its amazing how 3 shops have become so trustable in the evo community, alot of respect to their work, also, tuners like Tscomptuned and Dr.boost, i am in no way affiliated with any of them but they just deserve so much respect for what they do and how they got to where they are, very off topic but yeah lol, Shep and Tre and jacks have been big names in the game, Jacks is known for building unbreakable gtr transmissions too, But they are all great from what I hear.

I do value Jons expertise, but he had my trans and money for a month without hearing a word from him. I was more than happy with the product, and I beat the hell out of that trans.
