Other than a hiccup in the process, everyone should have their pans. I hope y'all like them as much as I do. Thanks for your patience!

Just opened my box to check it out. Looks cool!
With this new pan, it's heavier at the passenger side, so do we torque the bolts a bit more to compensate for extra weight of pan and oil?

I always do spec, for the sake of not squeezing out too much Hondabond. I don't think the torque spec is weight dependent.

Torque spec is relative to fastener diameter and material. Those bolts strip super easily, I wouldn't chance it.

I swear now that everyone's getting their pans I regret having missed out haha. Any close-up pics for us?

The added piece that was welded on seems to be thick sheet metal. Pan is probably double the original weight and all that weight (I'd guess 85-90%) is at the passenger side. I bought STM allen screws to replace oem bolts. I may go a little tighter to compensate for heavier pan. We'll see once I pull off old pan.

Not sure if serious....

Torque specs are based on the strength of the fastener. Not the weight of the part it's holding on.

You guys convinced me. I'll be meticulous torquing the pan bolts to spec.

Sorry, been dealing with tranny seller that shipped with 2 big pieces of bubble wrap inside 2 cardboard boxes. Bubble wrap wasn't even 2 layers or taped onto tranny and he claims it's not his fault that tranny got damaged and he didn't buy insurance. I'm dealing with FedEx and getting tranny inspected this whole weekend. I'll try to take some photos tonight.

Goodness, man, you just can't seem to catch a break when it comes to these transmissions! I hope you are able to resolve it, if it just needs some welding and you don't wanna deal with it lmk, I'll take it off your hands.

Quick question kaj: Do you have any recommendations on how these should be cleaned on the inside before install? Or am I over thinking it?

Maybe run a magnet around pan and rinse with brake cleaner or alcohol? And use compressed air to blow any dust out?

The hinges sometimes have some yellowish lube on them (mostly the reason they don't like to flop around when you first get it) and the inside should be coated in wd-40 or other protectant. Before putting mine in, I blasted everything with Carb cleaner then tossed/rubbed around some oil right before putting it on. I filled and ran the car right away, so surface rust wouldn't have been an issue.. but still I did an oil change shortly after, just to be even more on the safe side. I probably went a bit overboard.
But, there shouldn't be anything dangerous in there, so either way, really.
