Question Aftermarket exhaust pipe diameter

First of all let me say that i have tried the search function but i could not find what i was looking for. My appologies if this issue has been analysed again.

My question is the following:

Over the next few days (hopefully) the local Mitsu dealer will deliver my new Silver Evo VIII Euro - Spec version ( http://www.mitsubishi-evolution8.com/ )

So i am looking for an aftermarket exhaust for my new baby.

I like very much the new Greddy Titanium exhaust. This exhaust pipe diameter is 80mm as their website says.

On the other hand, most of the J-spec aftermarket exhausts pipe diameters for Evo VIII is 75mm diameter ( www.takakaira.co.jp )

What is the stock pipe diameter for the US Evo VIII in mm???

Thank you very much in advance

Fortunately my stock exhaust is still laying in the garage.

According to the calipers the average OD size of the pipe is 60mm.
This is on the straight portions. Some places measured 61, some 59.
There are some bends in the pipe that are smaller. Definitely not mandrel bent.
The smallest I found was on a bend between the two resonators on the midpipe. It was 56mm.

There are more restrictive points on the DP. Mine is still wrapped in the heat shields
so I can't measure them.

Diameter tells part of the story. A 75mm pipe is ~30% larger than 56mm.
But compare the cross sectional area.
The area of the pipe at 56mm is 2463mm square. ( A = r*r*3.14159)
The area of a 75mm pipe is 4418mm square.
Looking at it that way it is a huge difference, like 80% bigger.

Hope this helps...
