2.1l long rod
Here the deal , I want to build a high compression 4G64 block using a oem crank to make it a 2.1L LONG ROD with a super 99 . the car primary use will be a roll racing like 40/50/60 mph rolls on the street and 1/2 mile rolling events . Maybe some drag racing at the track once a year or so . . I've heard so many mixed opinions on the 4g64 2.1L long rod engine that I want to hear from people who has had experience with these 4g64 based built 2.1L . I do know water pump needs and adapter , Aftermarket cam gears so the timing belt fits properly and other minor things to make it work .
Are these 2.1L really able to rev 9500rpms?
Are these blocks destroked able to hold 1000 whp ?
I've talk to many people that been around the evo game and always get mixed opinions , some say the engine makes good power and hold the power just as a built 2.0l would . Others simply tell me the 4g64 block with evo crank destroked is simply garbage to just do a 2.0L all it does its spin bearings ? any input is appreciated ?

Everyone have their own opinions some shops will tell u differently because some make more money that way....
Look at the platform that has been breaking records and has been reliable....there's nothing like a gold ol 4g63 w/ oem crank, standard length rod and aluminum rods for that power u mentioned of course with an exceptional tune which would be one of the most important things. ... Long rod if ur gonna be in super high rpms most of the time. There is a lot of determining factors and it would be an endless topic...
Take a look at shops that have beat records and what they used... And look at the setups of the fastest evos... Anyway my 2 cents....
