Cleaning corrosion from inlet side of turbo??
Ok so had my car parked while I was out of state for a while in a unheated garage. Was in the process of just starting disasembily for installing a new trans and had to leave state unexpectedly so i just took a rag and rubber cap and covered the turbo inlet and tb. Now after I'm back I go to remove the cap on the turbo and there is a bunch of corrosion on the rag and down the turbo inlet. I cleaned as far as I can befor the compressor wheel but need to get further down past the fins... does anyone know of any way to clean my turbo out? I was thinking just removing the cold side and finding some calcium cleaning chemical and spraying it threw the turbo then followed by break clean to clean out any remaining residue. Just not sure if brakeclean will damage any seals or something within the turbo. Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated, I'm lost on what the best course of action would be in this situation.

Remove the compressor housing from the turbo. It may require the turbo to be removed from the car though.
