272/272 cam timing test and tune
I am bumping this thread because I would like to discuss the +1/-1 settings that seem to be popular these days. Anyone done a comparison between the -4/-1 and the +1/-1?
I run -3/-3 for daily driving because I like the hard hitting low end. That combo moved max torque about 1k RPM lower than all other settings that I tried. I was unable to try +1/-1.

The +1/-1 setting will deliver quicker and bigger low end and midrange than -3/-3, and probably won't sacrifice much of anything up top. My 280s at +2/0 spool quicker than my 272s did at -3/-3.
What about +1/-2. I don't care about my idle I knew about the roughness before I got the cams I just want big power wouldn't that set up give tli crazy bottom end and good mid range. Shouldn't kill topend too much right? I mean topend diference should be that noticable since my settings are 0/0 now right? Anyone?
seperation is what causes smooth idle. apparently with 5 degrees of seperation your idle gets silkie smooth. so +1 and -1 will only be 2 degrees so your thump will still mostly be there.
