Hey guys, the other day my buddy started his Evo 8 MR on a cold morning. He failed to let it warm up due to him being late for work. Drove it a few blocks to a stoplight, then he stalled it. Now it will not start back up again. It does crank. I believe it is not getting fuel. Before this incident it had been fuel cutting. Very violent fuel cutting at that. So he replaced the stock fuel pump with a wallbro 255. The fuel cutting got a lot better but still occurred while highway driving. 4-5 gear. 3k-5k RPMs. Now we can't hear the fuel pump kick on at all. We also swapped the fuel pump back to the old one after it stalled and wouldn't start again. (it still worked, just kept cutting out). Still can't hear the fuel pump prime up. We have checked the two fuel relays on the interior. Those are fine. I read on here that the ecu will not give the fuel pump the signal to prime unless the crankshaft position sensor is working properly. We then checked for DTC's and found nothing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you guys need anymore information.

 

Did you guys remove the black single wire sensor on the bottom of the pump hangar? There is a o ring in there and if it isnt sitting properly you will have low or no fuel pressure.

 

Problem solved. Turned out we weren't getting spark. Ended up being a fuse.
