not able to step on the gas

not able to step on the gas

last week i was driving my 2007 mitsubishi lancer and i can't step on the gas all of a sudden. The the low oil pressure light got up and my car stop functioning. i was not able to start the car. i checked the dip stick and it shows there was not enough oil in it. Can anybody tell me what could have causes this to happen. Thanks

The engine probably seized.

Low oil
1 lack of maintanance
2 bad piston rings.
3 both

You need to try and spin engine with a ratchet first.
Lift car and find the crank pulley. Use a 1/2 inch breaker bar and i beljeve its a 22mm bolt. See if you can make the engine rotate.

If not.
Need to buy new motor.

If you can you need to start testing stuff for not cranking anymore like starter or ignition.

Since you mentioned the oil light and now it wont start id say its locked up.
