Sounds like you want EFR7670 or GTX3076.

For absolutely amazing experience up to 30-32psi, EFR7670.
There is plenty of data on this forum, check R/TERnie's build thread to see more.

On his 2.2 in 4th gear it was fully spooled about 3500rpm.
2.3 will spool it sooner. For each 6mm of stroke spool seems to improve by 250rpm.

FYI: for roadcourse, depending on a lot of things, you may want to know that many Portland area SCCA competitors use 2.3 with EFR7163.
BrianAWD is one that comes to mind.

ON track you cannot run 30-35psi and stay in one piece: 25-26psi is likely the highest boost any experienced builder/tuner of racing Evos would recommend.
And at that pressure EFR7163 is singing all the way to 7800rpm on Brian's Evo 2.3.

FYI, R2 even on stroker are not all they were meant to be.
Most who owned, sold them, for S2.
I see considerable added lag all the way up to 5000-5500 where S2/R2 equalize, than maybe R2 can make tiny bit more top end, but seems not worth the trade off unless its a 1/2 mile race car.

Yes, looking for a little more power than the 7163. It seems to top out around 450. I like to drag race and want to get into road racing, just for fun though. I will be keeping boost at 25psi max for road course work and 30+ for drag racing. I will revisit the turbo though. The Full Race kit is on sale and it looks like a good little turbo.

Le sigh, I thinking am going to sell the R2 cams. I hate to take a hit on them but definitely want a broad power band and good all around performer. Purchased them a while ago, put them in vacuum bags with oil and set them on the shelf. Now it seems the hype is over and most are recommending me to go with the S2 for my goals.

At second look it seems the ss 7163 is hitting 550whp at 34 psi Dynojet. Which would be good for me. Makes me wonder what the ts version could make.

my setup fits any IWG T4 EFR, has large bore runners too.. Personally I wouldnt run more than 7670.. and I would rather run a TS 7670 than a SS 7163

I definitely would want to run a ts turbo. Was just commenting on how the ss made more than I thought so maybe the ts verison would be also be good on power.

Who makes your setup? A IWG 7670 would definitely fit the bill. Does the setup fit with AC? It looks like it from the picture and is a must in Texas.

Yeah, I prefer the TS too for response and spool... SS is probably worth 30 ish HP, but I am just guessing..

I designed and made it and yes it is AC compatible... Alpinaturbo here will run one on his evo 6 too.. we just cant decide if he should go 7163 or 7670....

The whole system did requre custom manifold, DP, but also new engine mount and I also changed the WG mount to a new design which I think is better than stock.. I also added a turbo support from below. Will post some pics on the whole system next week..

After your post I started digging and found another thread on Lancer Registery with you talking about it and showing pics of the old version. Looks like a pretty sweet setup, can't wait for the pics of the new version. Wish you guys were on this side of the pond!

I am hoping to make a decision this week on which setup to go with since the FP turbos are on sale and would help save some cash. I am starting to look heavily at the 7163 and 7670 though.

I think that once you decide to get a tubular manifold for stock frame turbo you could have had a full frame kit instead..

mind you, efr will require an aftermarket WG actuator, because stock one is too weak and a slimline fan.. so it is not a cheap kit by any means.. The first kit I made will run on 2.3 in the US... mine will be 2.0 on 7163.

Looks good!

I already have a down pipe, O2 housing, 18psi waste gate actuator and slim fan with an EVO6 style radiator. So all I would need to go back to an FP RED is a new MHI housing, have it ported for the turbine and the turbo. I am considering picking up the cast race manifold to top it off though.

A good kit would be nice and an upgraded waste gate actuator would be a must with the 7163 or 7670 to help hold 30+. So many options.

A properly sized twin scroll housing will have better spool up and transient response vs single scroll, and It won't hurt power.

I would beg to differ based on my own experiences with different setups on different cars. Twinscroll housings make a huge difference on spool.

Ayoustin, I think LetsGetThisDone meant that twin scroll Will Have better spool and transient response, but also hardly be done on power on top end to Single V-band Scroll.
He is proponent of twin scroll..likely fingers flying too fast

Kikiturbo said I am dweling 7163 vs 7670:
I like to research everything before making a choice.
I am finding evidence on E85, that on Evo 7670 will top out about 550-575whp. Eric (R/TErnie) has consistently done 550-557whp on his 2.2 EFR7670 and only upon pushing hard made it to 575whp.|
550whp was obtained at 30psi, with GSC S3 cams - which help especially top end.

While BrianAWD Evo 2.3 EFR7163 made an easy 549whp at same English Racing Dyno at 27psi.
And he used GSC S1 cams.

On pump twin scroll 7163 seems to make safe 450whp on stock block, possibly slightly more on built motor which you can push a bit more.

Eric (R/TErnie) made 450whp roughly on 92 pump at 21psi on 7670.
Perhaps on Pump gas EFR7670 has an advantage over 7163, but on E85, it seems they are closer than we thought.

With 7163 much improved spool, perhaps 300+rpm sooner, and likely better transient response, I am re-thinking my 7670 proposal.
