We need pics of the tops of the pistons so we can compare it to the oil in the combustion chambers.

your valve stem seals look like they are leaking oil.

It does. I think every cylinder was leaking something at the valves. Time for a machine shop to perform their magic. I chose a shop in Riverside to do the work. Arlington Machine. Pictures to come.

FWIW, my cylinders on my 2005 looked like yours AND like the cylinders in the link you posted and I put the head back on and it's run for at least 60,000 miles since, over 90k on E85. Driven hard on track and street with 450whp+.

The car sit in my garage for months between being driven and I live two blocks from the ocean. Same with my Evo 10. All my Mitsubishis have been E85 powered for at least a decade too.

I have a thread around my 05 here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/e85-ethanol/570749-fuel-system-after-3-years-e85.html

I had the injectors sent out and they passed with flying colors as well.

The only issue I have had with E85 was when my Evo 10 was down for a year with the engine out to build the motor and the fuel lines where open to the atmosphere and my surge tank ended up looking like this. So make sure you just keep your system closed.

Thanks Bryan. I was worried about using my block as-is.

And as suspected, injectors were clogged and leaking. All fixed now while I wait for head work to be completed.
