Top Brands for Intercooler

Hello guys

I am currently running a stock intercooler on my Evo 9 which makes 400hp. I would like to ask you what brands you consider to be the most reliable for aftermarket intercooler. I have heard some very good comments for the following brands: Sheepey Built, ETS, Mishimoto. If you have one of those, or anything else please share your experience/view. Any comments are more than welcome.

*** Please have in mind that I am living in Israel where the summer temperature is between 42 to 47 celsius. So, you can understand that any cooling part that I am going to install needs to be made from outstanding quality/brands materials.

Thanks for your time

I don't think there are much difference between brands. What affects efficiency are size, thickness, and type (bar&plate vs fins). Bigger is better at cooling and fins do a better job than bar&plate.

This topic has been discussed and debated. I will have to go back & find the articles, but I believe the Bar /Plate will out perform the less expensive Fin design in most categories

I have some data that shows the opposite, at least in my experience:

Bar & plate has more mass so it can cool longer for drag race where it can cool down between races. Fin design has better heat transfer rate so that's better for road coarses. OP has desert temps so neither has much efficiency. E85 is his best bet.

In my opinion ETS is the best bang for your buck. Very affordable good product. Any fabrication company can make a good intercooler but I think the ETS's are on the more affordable side. I run an ETS.

Guys I am a little bit confused. You are referring to bars and plates. I don't want to review each component of each intercooler to assess which is the top one. I want to know as an overall result which one produces the best results.

thanks

they're all about the same. Get which ever fits your budget. The bigger the unit's volume, the better the efficiency.

To be honest, I don't know how you are able to make 400 hp with stock intercooler. What fuel was that 400 hp made on?

If he's on E85, upgrading intercooler won't net him much for the cost. He'll get better bang on 71HTA.
