This is a known issue with some cars. Whomever you talked to at Buschur either did not understand you or did not know anything. Every since the first person put on an aftermarket filter, these symptoms have appeared. I have the symptoms as well. It will help if you ease off the throttle in stop-n-go traffic. Others may not experience this due to various driving styles. The abrupt start and go affects the air/fuel reading. Try babying it more and see if it helps.

i can baby it more, yes, but in stop and go traffic abrupt stop and go is the nature of the beast. theres no getting around that. the car is a hassle to drive. if i hand the keys to anyone else, it dies. even the mechanic at AMS....it shouldnt be this tricky driving a street car that basically has a bunch of bolt ons....my wife knows how to drive stick and i know it will die with her behind the wheel. my buddy drove it once and hes been driving stick cars all his life....hes like "what the f... is with this thing..?"
if its a case of putting the stock intake and air filter on, thats what ill do...then ill have to have it tuned again.....
now i have another issue ill cover in a seperate post.....
car shudders under partial acceleration....

Bump Bump Bump...

I'm left wondering if I'm going to tear the honeycomb out of the MAF, buy a AEM EMS, convert to MAP, and keep the stock ecu in the car incase of OBD2 emmission tests.
It's really annoying, and I can drive around it, but I don't think I should have to deal with it.

Ha, I just got done telling someone there is no problem with running just the filter upgrade and I come across all this.

For those of you having trouble do you have just the filter or the filter and a MAS pipe? The cars with the MAS pipe upgrades have to have more fuel added down low on the flash or the AFC to get rid of the problem. The filter kits, from what I have seen and driven, by themselves don't cause any trouble at all.

Let me know.

I've been running the filter for some time.. It works fine in most ccircumstances.. I did notice stalling began to happen recently.. Noticed two things.. Dirty filter, and Fouled plugs.. When I cleaned the filter, and replaced the plugs with colder denso's my stalling problem went away completely.

David, how do you add more fuel down low with an AFC?

Do you simply add a couple of % of fuel at 800 and 1000 RPMS at low-throttle conditions?
