buschur intake, car wants to stall when.....
hello
car wants to stall when u creep the car forward at low rpm, then put the clutch in...like in stop and go traffic.
i have no boost leaks or any other problems. i had custom tune by al of dynoflash....
ive been told the maf has trouble reading the airflow at low rpm, and cant compensate fast enough....
anyone have a fix for this??
im thinking of taking the maf and keep repositioning it slightly in a hit or miss fashion in hopes of finding a position where it reads the airflow better.
thanks for any help or suggestions...

how long have you had your evo?
i got 20k on mine.
i get this as well sometimes.. started somewhere around 14-15k miles.. it was slightly fixed with new plugs that i just got.. but not completely..
when it started was when i found that my k&n cone filter was off slightly at the connector.. so air was going into the maf with no filtration.. so i tried cleaning it with 99% alcohol, and i thought it was fixed, but no such luck.. after a couple days it was back...
i'm gonna try cleaning my maf with some 99% alcohol again.. it's just hard to reach into and make sure it's really cleaning the right things in there...
i'm wondering if these filters just aren't good enough.. i'm thinking of going back to stock + k&n drop-in..

sometimes its hard to give it a quick rev in stop and go traffic....its a hassle for a street car. im pretty positive my filter is on right, its a k&n, so i dont think its a connection/fitting problem.
its not the plugs, have new plugs, car has 4k miles. started when we put the bigger intake on...now im thinking of putting stock intake back on and whatever else that would entail, and pay for a new tune to account for the stock intake.....its looking like thats my only solution....

Check back with Al and see what he says. I have the BR intake and don't have that problem. I drive in stop and go traffic and never had the car stall.
Where does your car idel at?

I had the same problem with the AEM and I was dynoflashed 2 weeks ago and the problem is gone completely. I can now do that inch forward thing at the lights without it almost stalling. I have the fireball 2 tune. If you have the fireball 1 AL might have not figured that in. Might want to give him a call.
i spent a lot of time discussing this with al both before and after my custom tune...i didnt do mail order flash. he said he didnt think he could tune this problem out and lo and behold, he couldnt. he said he sees this condition in cars with bigger intakes..he thinks the air swirls around the maf at low idle and the maf cant read it fast enough and thats what causes the car to wanna stall...i called buschur racing and asked them about it, they said theyre not aware of that problem, so i didnt even pursue it with them any further.
i really wanna fix this problem....i dont think i should have to put up with a car that wants to die out like this....my buddy gets behind the wheel and thinks its a piece of **** cause it dies out on him....i shouldnt have to be revving the engine to keep it from dying out....i have about 36k in this car and i shouldnt have to deal with this.
pardon my vent
thanks guys
