Dont know how many have noticed, but FP is offering the MHI housing again! Pretty sweet. They are also (at this time) charging separately for the turbine housing, so you buy the core and turbine housing separately (but just buy the ss or mhi). This can save some coin for those wanting the MHI housing which used to be on top of the turbo with purchase.

About a month ago they were charging $700 on top of the $2399 not including a wastegate

 

I recall that. I sort of expected the price to get adjusted because the $2499 included the SS hot side. I didn't think they were actually charging an additional $700 over that for the MHI. So, now, at $2800, its back to what I paid for my Xona MHI red in 2015.

 

What's a xona mhi red is it the same as the other bb mhi turbos produced at the time

 

The FP ball bearing center section is a Xona center section. The Xona center sections were R&D'ed collaboratively between FP and Tial.

 

Who pays $3000 for a stock-frame turbo?!

 

It's VERY hard to beat the performance of the FP Red for ~600whp in an Evo 8/9.
