He called me. After discussion I'm sending all 3 drivetrain components and getting the bells and whistles for the rear diff. Story's about him explaining everything was on point. He explained stuff and then explained even more.

The site glass cover makes it ridiculously easy to properly fill the rear diff. And it ensures you have the proper oil level. Not trying to over fill past the stock fill hole and trying to shove the plug in while fluid runs out. IIRC, this is only $100. And well worth it since you can also quickly check fluid condition through the site glass.
Gotcha. The website says it's useful if you launch your car a lot but didn't mention oiling issues. Good to know . I haven't had any problems filling fluid and I change it often, but I could see how it could be convenient. I'm already looking at $750, which is more than I had planned.. so even an extra $100 is a deal breaker for me. I'd rather have the diff done than not because I wanted extras.

I don't remember Jon telling me anything about oil to the clutches but I do remember him telling me it threw a lot more oil onto the pinion. My stock diff's pinion bearing was trashed when I sent it in so I opted for the side cover. I would highly recommend building it stronger and building it once. I am kicking myself that years ago when I sent my T-case to Jack's I didn't do the bolt upgrade, I just put in the Wavetrac. Back then I wasn't ever planning on making the power I am now (430/390) but here I am wanting even more, and I launch my car now.

Is there anything I should swap out since all my drivetrain components are getting rebuilt? I am replacing TOB, clutch disc, the springs and felt washers on the clutch fork(not replacing fork, looks all good). Flywheel getting resurfaced, the pressure plate is good(confirmed by act through pictures). I can't imagine anything on the transfercase/rear diff needing anything done since they're getting a good refresher.

Anything I am missing I should do before everything is rebuilt and installed?

Also is it easier to reinstall the transfercase while the tranismission is out?

Thanks

Also pulled the little plate to the transmission and saw the gears, they looked fine. Couldn't see everything but from what I saw everything looked Ok...

You can't see first gear in that pic. That's likely where your issue is.

Nothing else I would think. Everything will new, so change all fluids at 500 mile mark, and at 1500 mile mark (1k miles after first change) and then resume normal maintenance schedule.

I went ahead and upgraded while my tranny was out. I had 430whp on E85 then. 6-9 months later, I have 480. And I have piece of mind since I've been hopping off the line. Not sure why but I suspect suspension or rear diff rubber mounts. Hopping was violent.
Since you are going all out, why not?

You'll wipe out the tcase gear before the output tube at that level.

I would think the front diff would go before the bilet output tube.

Limited budget. Rather use the cash for something necessary.

Yea, so my transmission and transfercase pretty much needs a full overhaul. Kick in the gut.
