Fram Ultra Sizing for the Evo

no, I don't want to talk about how the cheapest walmart Fram sucks.

Has anyone used any other sizing for the fram ultra (XG9688)? Specifically, I'm looking also at the XG7317, which is a little taller and narrower. Any other sizing available?

i wouldnt use a fram to prop a door open, but if you like them great.

Ive found two sizes of filters that fit evos, the tall skinny and short fat ones. they both have the same volume and very very close filter area. i tried the fatter ones but the tall skinny gives more room for my cooler fittings and still sits high enough to never hit the ground. unless you go remote filter and use something huge, i dont think it matters.

thanks - the reason was actually to give a little more clearance to the oil cooler lines. fram ultras are far different from the regular frams, as good as all the top line filters.

i'll try to s2k fitment one and see

I've been running whatever the book says fits a 1995 turbo Dodge Stealth on my Evo since it was new. However, no Frams.

thanks, that actually did help:

it's about 0.4" taller than the one spec'd for the evo. still leaning towards the 7317 for being slightly thinner for aftermarket oil line clearance, but it should be fine honestly
