1st to 2nd gear change pop kick back feel

I got a transmission rebuilt and I am noticing sometimes when I shift from 1st to 2nd, when pulling it out of first, it will feel like it's popping out/kicking out of first gear. Almost like it's spring loaded. Not crazy hard or anything, but noticeable since my hand feels it. It doesn't pop out on its own and does it when I shift a little quick, but not like drag/banging gears quick. E.g once the clutch pedal touches the floor, I am then moving the shifter from 1st to 2nd and if I am a little quick on getting it out of first, it will do a little popout/kickback feel in the shifter. If I do wait like half a second or so when the clutch pedal is on the floor, it doesn't happen. I don't really recall it doing that before the transmission rebuild but I did reuse my previous pressure plate since it had 20-30k miles on it and looked good(verified with act with pics and they said it was good).

So is this a cause for concern or is it normal to wait some fractions of a second before I shift from first to 2nd? I don't usually bang gears or go to drag strip at all so not sure if it's normal to get that feeling in the hand when shifting quickly.

p.s no clutch drag or lockout issues.
p.s.s I believe it only happens when the tranny fluid is cold.

How many miles on the new trans? Has the fluid been changed?

What it sounds like is happening is the transmission is still loaded when you're trying to pull it out of gear. Like the clutch isn't releasing on the initial push in of the clutch. Cold parts definitely increase this tendency. If you double clutch it, does it still do it?

Transmission has about 1500 miles. Initial fluid was changed at 800 miles. I dont double clutch but I know the issue wouldn't happen since it would give it that extra time for it not to happen. My only concern is when it does it, does it cause any harm? If not then I can deal with it, if it does, I obviously would not like that since its rebuilt and cost a pretty penny.

Also to add, redline was used prior to rebuild and I'm using Motul now.

My trans does this too, but only when everything is cold, ie the engine, clutch, everything. After a few minutes of driving and the engine is up to temp, and the clutch has some heat in it, its stops.

You could always ping your trans builder for input.

I did. He didnt like I refused a pressure plate but at the time, funds were shot to had to make due. He only said to wait a split/fraction of a second after the clutch pedal is to the floor before I pull the gear out of first to 2nd. I'll need to ask if there is any damage/extra wear if that happens. But I guess for the time being, just gotta wait a split second before pulling it out of first gear until everything is warmed up.
