Black build up/sludge in the Air intake

Hey guys, just changed out my oem stock air box. For a aftermarket air intake, whilst replacing this. I found a black like grease maybe carbon build up ? In the intake and where the intake connects to the turbo.

What is this exactly ?
Any ways to clean it out / prevention?

There is a PCV hose that connects the intake to the valve cover that sucks in vapors. Totally normal, you can clean it out with some degreaser. You can install a catch can to try and reduce the amount of build up.
