Tomei Cams

Is anyone using the Tomei Poncams in the US. I know alot of guys in the UK use them but not many people here. Toda Racing used them for a while, but switched to the Procams, and George at Boost Soln's uses the PROCAMS. Can someone give me some feed back on there performance? They are supposed to be similar to (what would be) a 260 version of the Jun cams, not sure......HELP!

Here's what I know... The 264 in/ex setup seems to be the most popular among daily driven street EVO. Tomei has designed a 260 setup because it seems to give a bit more in the mid range. The 264 are great and very effective, but they seem to be more optimal at higher speeds like on the highway then on the street. They are still much more appealing than the 272 for the street, but a little lower angle would help. I've heard that must road race cars would actually run on a 256 in/ 264 ex setup for tighter courses. You don't see these listed on manufactors' cars in magazines because the rest of the market suggests 264 and 272. I've tried looking for a 256 in, but it seems hard to come by. I will be going with the Procam Tomei.

These are my feelings exactly. I'm not trying to build a dyno queen, I want the midrange torque and accerlation. PM me Ken, if the get these cams, and let me what you think.

no matter which cams you get if you want midrange then its is lift that you need. this is a big thing in the UK at the mo and why most are going with piper. i think they are similar to Tomei. the pipers have agresive onpeing and closing of the valves with high lift which means you need the springs and ratainers, but also means you get a beast of a car with the 264 they offer. these cams actuly offer more duration at 50thou lift than what the HKS 272 do! i dont know what Tomei cams can lift to but i think the Piper ones will go to 12mm with no problems!

hope this helps. Chris.
