Camshaft options

I am in the process of building my 4g63 2.2LR (evo 8) and i own a set of cosworth M2 and a set of Buschur 272. Should i use one of these two sets or go to S3? G30-770 on 93 pump gas mainly.

I have read the dsportmag comparison a thousand times However M2 were not tested and although they say S3 is for applications above 800whp they seem to do better earlier than i thought. At just 5000rpm

This depends on the goal of the car. I have run my M2s and GSC S2s on a high comp 2.0 with an FP Red and absolutely love it. I wouldn't move to the S3s because I wouldn't want to give up the spool RPM.
That said, my car is pretty much a street car. If you plan to drag race it more than street it, go big lol.

I run S3s on an AGT 55mm (Red), love them. Spools a tad slower, but they pull to redline.

street car not drag. what difference did you notice between S2 and M2 on the same setup?

when i went from HKS 280 to M2 272 on stock turbo i did not notice any difference in spooling. However HKS are known to be mild compared to the competition.

I didn't notice any real difference in spool between the M2s and S2s. The S2s do seem to make a little more up top but I switched tuners too so that's another variable.
I would have never switched away from the M2s but my head got messed up and I got a really good deal on a built head with the S2s in it already. I actually still have the M2s on a shelf lol.

Id go s3 or Kelford 284s or 88s depending on your intake setup.

Yea, there is almost no reason to move from the M2s to the S2s other than a little extra way up top. For a street car, I'd just run what you have and carry on.

I disagree with this being the R2 cams were designed for stroker motors and or larger displacement. Being they were similar to the s2 cams, they offer more lift which on a 2.2 you can actually use it. Your gaining displacement which will move more exhaust gas so why not utilize the extra lift to get the gasses out of the engine better. The only downfall would be stock size intake mani. Skunk mani is a good mani, but with something like a new JMF mani or a Magnus mani your allowing that lift to get more air into the engine. It doesn't matter if its a street car or a full out drag car you want to use as much powerband as you can to make the power. So with that said I will change my thing to r2's
