ACD problem or Pump maybe the Oil ?
ACD problem or Pump maybe the Oil ?
hey evo friends
Ive an Evo Viii 2004, it has acd, and ayc controlled rear diff. Last summer when the weather was hot, i realized the tipical problem ,all the ACD lights on the dash (tarmac gravel snow) came up together and lighting continuously almost everything when i started to riding with the car. I didn't deal with it then. Autumn and winter knocked on the door i thought I wouldn't use it until spring... However my attitude is changed.. i used the car in winter a lot in cold weather, and the ACD worked perfectly , lights never came up together, all the functions are worked properly, and i was happy the problem is solved ,she healed herself
I used the car for months like this without issue but.. Now its spring, the good weather is here.. yesterday the problem came up again, all the lights are lighting together.
What you thinking guys where should i dig in first ? And why the cold weather solve the problem?

Its pretty common for these symptoms with the acd showing all 3 lights at the same time in warmer weather and going away in cold. Same happened with my acd. The acd pump is corroded inside from moisture and whatever they may put on the roads to control snow and ice so it needs to be cleaned and rebuilt. The pump is able to maintain enough pressure in cold temps to work but not in warm temps which is why you get the 3 lights lit up.
did you check the fluid level? I get the 3 lights when I didnt bleed the ACD properly. I have bled the ACD about 10x in the past 6months since I've been doing so many upgrades/mods/fixes. I just overfill the reservoir and let it overflow after a drive. & reduce fluid just a little over the full marker
