OK...

I blew my transfer case about a month ago. I had it replaced and noticed a small puddle on my garage floor. Took it to the dealership and they said it was a bad O-ring in the transfer case. They ordered a new one an replaced the defective one.

Today, I noticed an even BIGGER puddle on the garage floor. It smells like oil but it has a green tint to it when I soak it up with a paper towel.

Is this gear oil? Why would it be leaking after the O-ring replacement? I hate to keep on driving to the dealership

 

ya its gear oil... it will smell like @$$, gear oil has a nasty smell like a true tuner garage does... Most likely they either damaged the seal again, or damaged the surface to which it seats on... Keep taking it back until the problem is solved, after 30 days of garage time demand a new car... lemon law... But don't worry its all on them... just leaves you with nice stains on ur driveway

 

Browns fan... I'm guessing you are in NE Ohio. Try going to another dealership if you don't trust the first dealership.

 

Actually I was born outside of Cleveland but now live in PA....Browns fan for life though

 

Here is a pic of where it looks like it is leaking from. I am assuming that it's part of the transfer case...

 

In most states the dealer has three attempts to repair your issues (so long it is the same thing)...they have repalced the same seal twice, they have one more chance before lemon law comes into play.

So bring it back to the same dealer for there third attempt...good luck.
