Greddy Type-S BOV..is it VTA & recirc?

I am divided on a BOV, I want a lounder sound, but I don't want the stalling problems that come with a VTA BOV. I was told by the guy who tunes my car, that I should get the Greddy Type S bc it can be set up for venting to atmosphere or for recirculating. Is this true?

Also, what flange does the EVO need for the Greddy Type S, the steel or aluminium one?

I have the APEXi S-AFC (NOT II), will this correct the stalling problems with the VTA valve?

The greddy type s can be set up to do both, But it is highly recommended you go recirculating. As for which flange to roder, im pretty sure the one that came with mine was aluminium, but i never even got a choice, i just ordered the one for the evo.

If you want the sound to be louder, just get an open element air filter, like the buschur intake, or hks racing suction. Also make sure to do the spring mod to avoid stalling, or stuttering issues. I have the type s, with a buschur intake and the spring mod, and its more than loud enough for me, it can be heard easily enough by passengers and bystanders alike. Be aware that the type S has a whistling/ chirping kind of sound to it, not so much a whoosh. Its a distinctive sound, and i like it, but others do not. search for sound clips online and make sure its what you want.

also, the afc will help if it has the feature to lean out the mixture momentarily while shifting to overcome the MAS error and resulting rich situation, but im not sure if that option is available on the s-afc-1. Even if it does, many have reported stalling in spite of it while trying to run VTA.

just run it recirculated with an intake, you won't be dissapointed.
