Axis racing dyno results (dyno dynamics)
Anything will look a lot better using a dynojet. Look, my stock WRX makes peak power @ 7000 RPMS! or not
FYI 118 trap is about 350whp pal, not 400.
Some STi's were baselining at ~185whp. Talk about a low reading dyno.

Well not that good, but the best way to tell is by a Drag run, at least 112MPH traps are needed for cams, I/E/Tuned and so on. Not saying you But I have seen cars dyno high with these mods, yet only run weak times and weak traps, run your car and you stated that 111MPH on pump, good stuff . People on a good tune generally make 350-375 WHP on a flash, or so I have seen and run 12-12.4 @ 114, AEM Evos I have seen run 11.7 @ 118, that is great time and about 400WHP.
So your trap is @ 111?QUOTE]
Well, since I have only drag raced this car once and have only done it once in my life I did not trap 111mph. I ran a 13.49@108mph with a 2.1 60'. I also hit the rev limiter in 2nd. 108mph trap is pretty good for 285hp car. I guess I need to find a 2wd dynojet so I can get some "poser" numbers.

Like I stated before, not withstanding the "heart breaking Dyno" assumption, 311 WHP is not that good, nor is

Oh and the reason for my emphasis on an "Iffy" tune is that I am not too pleased with the sharp fall off in power as the RPM's get higher. A look @ my Dyno sheet shows a steady progression of WHP until about 7600 where it begins to just start to drop, but I make well over 300WHP till 8000, yours seems to fall of quite quickly as the RPMS climb, again this is my view on your dyno sheet.

You may think the fact that dyno dynamics dynometers read lower than Dynojet and Dynapack dyno's is bull****, but I pulled 332 HP on 94 octane pump gas and 20 psi of boost (22 peak dropping to 20 at redline) on a much more conservative tune on a Dynapack and then pulled 332.8 on unleaded race fuel, much more agressive tune, and much higher peak boost (25 dropping to 20 at redline) on the dyno dynamics dynometer. Think what ever you like, but my car's race weight with me, and 1/4 tank of fuel is 3400 lbs. Plug that into any online calculator of wheel HP using my trap speeds and you get 360 HP at the wheels on pump gas and 381 HP at the wheels on race gas. Damn close to the 366 and 380 dynojet wheel HP produced by Shiv's online dyno equalizer program isn't it?
I seldom see exactly eye to eye with Shiv, but I respect him and think his conversion factors are right on the money.

Good stuff, 360 is high and right where you should be. I duno who thinks they can get a 118 MPH trap with 350WHP in an Evo, z06's put that down, weigh less, and don't trap that high but close. I would think north of 380WHP would be needed to run a 118 MPH trap.
Again I was concerened with that Dyno fall off, eye's rolled or not, a dyno still reads power, high or low, and will show a fall off in power, like the one shown here, it falls fast, and like on my dyno graph, it drops less then 10WHP from 7500 to 8000 Rpms, max Whp is 7400, so you can immagine how smooth mine is.
Any ways I redyno tomorrow, turns out my MBC was a Pos and was giving me crazy numbers and spikes (read 380FP's of torque @ 7000 Rpms) and then proceded to blow apart. I DID however run a 13.5 @ 101 MPH on 0.8 BAr of boost, not bad

Dynojets, by virtue of their massively heavy rollers, don't capture abrupt torque roll off. That is, the big fat rollers don't deccelerate as fast as they should given a loss of wheel torque that is applied to them. This is one of the reasons by intertial style dynos aren't popular in the OE tuning world. The big roller inertia also blurs short-term torque dips/spikes which are critical to identify and remedy. At times, it's like trying to cook a souffle with flame thrower.
BTW, it only takes 315whp on our DD for a EVO to trap in the 113-114mph range. And "only" 380whp to trap at 122mph.
