I'll just stay out of this due to the fact that my extreme distaste for the moral/business practices of one, would disallow an unbiased report... and I'm tired of all the bickering here. Happy hunting!

I think the general feeling in the community is that Vishnu will make you more power, and Works will give you a more refined power band, but not as tall.

I'm in the SF Bay Area and I know the value of going to a tuner who's local if possible, and preferably I'd like to keep the majority of my mods with that tuner, etc. So I am looking at either WORKS or Vishnu - both have really nice upgrade paths and I have heard good things about both, but wondering what you all have to say about the two? If I get an Evo, I'll probably want to choose one and stick with them for the most part, so what do you guys think?

Thanks, and look forward to hopefully meeting more of you if I end up with an Evo.

Hey man, take it from a previous B5'er....The Evo is AWESOME and you will love it. It only takes a couple of days to get used to the interior and the looks compared to the Audi's, but you forget all about that when you are driving

A4 if you are like me (very hands on, enough depends only on how much there is) you might want to consider the more flexable tunning route. If your are like my son (pay and play, my job is making money yours is tunning my car) then you may want to go with the more narrow but fully integrated engineering philosophy. You might also want to consider who will be actually be doing the wrenching on your ride to see who they like the best, or if its yourself then which system will work for your skill set (what you can install and maintain). Both of the companies you are considering are going to give you enough to make your car fast and reliable.

Go to the Dynoflash vs. Vishnu section of this forum. That will answer your question about Dynoflash.

Well since you brought it up, I have the P2 Works flash... I'll try Dynoflash next... and that's the end of that.

dude, try to get the MR version and drive the hell out of it first for the first 6 mos/1yr....by that time, these great tuners will have something special for ya (the MR will give you a better driving experience than your A4, buddy ).

go with either, just don't expect 100%-like stock-reliability. there will always be little issues when messing with the EVO. Those people who say their cars are problem-free, after tuning are LYING (ok, maybe a few were lucky, but you know what i'm saying). there will always be something.....(but that's part of the game)

if i could swing it, i'd get an extra ECU and have WORKS (Pete) mess with it - and i'd use it for daily driving.
when i want to kick-*** and do track-days, compete, whatever, i'd slap in my other ECU with the XEDE piggy-back, higher-octane map, and blow everybody (awesome....specially when custom-tuned by the guru himself).
this is my 2c...i would do this before spending $ on Ohlins, FMIC, bigger turbo, etc.)

cool...enjoy your EVO

*my car has an aftermarket exhaust, intake (w/c my tuner does not like, haha!), and cam gears...XEDE/XEDE Flash, and tuned by Shiv)...some days i hate my car, but most of the time it feels like i'm driving the batmobile!
