hey recently i have been hearing whinning noises around 3rd or 4th gear going around 40-50 mph. It doesnt have the noise constantly, just sometimes. I did my research that it was my transfer case (i hope). so i went to mitsubishi, and then they told me nothing was wrong with my car. they checked the fluids and they said nothing was wrong. They test drove my car and heared nothing. Well, if thats the case i mean, if i only hear it when im driving and then mitsu. would take it for a drive and hear nothing, how would i be able to change the TC? I need to know what i could say to them to convince them to change my transfer case.

 

Make them ride with you. Take the service guy out and do your best to reproduce the sound for them. He may very well have heard it and just doesn't want to deal with the hastle.

hmm well does anyone have a vid or sound clip of a bad transfer case..i want to make sure what i am hearing is not my own imagination. i hope mitsu is right..
