Instant 12whp In 5 Minutes

"INSTANT 12WHP IN 5 MINUTES"

No, I am not trying to sell you anything. That is the banner that is on the top of the latest turbo magazine. In the magazine, they dyno a stock Evo at XS enginerring at 234.7WHP. Then after a "5 minute install" of the new MPWR grounding box, they claim a 6.5WHP jump in the midrange and a 12WHP+ jump at 6500RPM. They took the device back off and dynoed at the stock 234WHP again, then re-installed the box with the same 12WHP+ results.

Looking at the dyno graph that they provide, I am quite impressed, but reluctant to believe it. I am not a firm believer in grounding kits....... but this is a "Grounding Box"!

Anyone have any info on this? They do not provide the price of it. If the gains are true, and the price is under $300, i would definatelly consider this as one of my next mods. They have a box specifically designed for our car according to Turbo Mad. If they can add 12WHP to a stock Evo, what could it add to a 350WHP one?

The US distributer is Lot USA. Their website is http://www.lot-usa.com/jdm.html On that part of their website you can see the "Direct Power System" picture, but they have no information about it. I have searched the internet and found nothing......

Anyone know anything about this?

I havn't read the article yet, but could it be the same thing as this? If so, it is well below your $300 budget I havn't tried the product myself, but I know it's a very popular mod in Japan now.

How is this different from a regular grounding kit? I see a box, but what exactly does that box do?

I think the little box controls the voltage some how? But i know that Apex'i also has 1 for the evo now for around $150.

i'm a believer in grounding kits, and i got mine from www.groundfusion.com. people have tested them time and time again, and showed improved HP.

But they dyno'd stock, then installed and dyno'd, then uninstalled and dyno'd, and installed a second time and dyno'd. If reseting the ECU yielded extra power then the second stock dyno should have had additional power, but it didn't.

I'm curious what's different between these boxes and a grounding kit.

a lot of modern cars have seen significant improvements, usually in general driveabilty and not top-end horsepower, through improving the grounding.

nasioc.com seems to be dead at the moment, but later on google for "single-point ground impreza" and read the first two hits.

STI guy, this is the second post I've read where people are trying to get helpful info and you post some worthless comment. Go chat in your STI forum and leave the EVO stuff to us.

This ground box sounds very interesting.

from glancing at the picture, this is a grounding kit with a builtin capacitor to regulate the current... yeah this may be more effective then a grounding kit but not significantly from my past experience....

BJai02 - the link you gave looks like the same kind of grounding box. Looks like a good price too! I am interested in the price of the one that Turbo Mag tested because....its dyno proven! (kinda)

Anyone know anything on the MPWR grounding box? That is the one that gave 12WHP+ on an evo..
