Question Questions about AEM EMS set-ups

I'm confused about what hardware is needed to run the AEM EMS.

Since I'm sure someone from Buschur Racing will read this, I'll address my questions to their webpage at http://www.buschurracing.com/cgi-bin....cgi?26X376545:

It lists:

AEM EMS for EVO8 - BOX ONLY - NO WBO2 $1680
AEM EMS for EVO8 - BOX ONLY - W/WBO2 $2230
AEM EMS Package for EVO8 w/WBO2 $2400
Then there are some separate sensors offered like WBO2, EGT and a 5 bar MAP.

If you already have a non-AEM wideband (I have an LM1 from Innovate), then can you use that instead of the UEGO?

Why is there the big cost increase ($550) for including the wideband when UEGO kit for AEM is sold separately by you for $345.

And what is included in the EMS "package" for $2400?

If you already have a wideband and want to run speed density, then can you just get the $1680 box + the $140 MAP sensor and be good to go?

Is the EGT sensor important for using the AEM?

What is involved in installing an AEM, tuning aside? Just unbolt the stock ECU and plug the AEM in in its place?

Finally, how well does the AEM running in speed density adjust the tune for changes in weather? Is that a downside to not running a MAF setup?
Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the EMS uses an intake air temperature sensor along with a MAP sensor when you convert from a MAF set up. The two sensors along with RPM allow the EMS to calculate the mass the of air flowing into the engine.

I believe you can use the LM1 unit, but you will probably need to calbrate the unit to work with the EMS... otherwise just read A/F and adjust fuel accordingly. It just won't datalog the data.

Not sure how the Buschur packages work, but you'll probably want the EMS unit, map sensor, and an air temp sensor for temp compensation. I'm guessing that's what the packages include. EGT isn't required, but you could set that up to make adjustments in case of high EGTs, etc.

You can use other brands of Widebands, although they will require more setup. Horsepowerfreaks did have the 1313 box (the one you need) for $1400 or so. But, if you buy it from Buschur they'll give you free base maps.

For the MAP conversion you want the AEM MAP sensor and a GM IAT Sensor (or AEM). I also have the AEM EGT, but never use it and it requires you to drill out a heat shield standoff.
