Exedy Single plate clutch
its a great clutch overall, but it's definitely not for everyone in terms of driveability. Much ahrder to be smooth from a dead stop with this vs other clutches out there. It can hold a fair bit of power (as much as most street driven Evo's can put out), though the twins do outsell the single's by a wide margin (though they are considerably more expensive)
If you are going to spend that much you might as well get a bit better clutch like the Cusco twin disc. Doug at Boost Solutions has an Exedy single disc and he hates it. Call him there and he will be able to better inform you of his problems.
The single is good for about 400-450 hp, the twins are about 1.5 times that (but also significantly more expensive - ~$900 for singles, and `$1300-$2000 for twins depending on brand).
In terms of competition use, I guess it depends on what you mean by that. I feel it would be a far better unit for road race use than for drag use.

between shifts they actually behave pretty much the same - but the single is noticeably grabbier than the twin when engaging first gear from a dead stop (just talking about a normal street stop, i.e pulling away from a red light)
I have the single and love it! The only downside is, it is very CHATTY! Like everyone says,it is very grabby, but nothing you can't get used to. I personally like the grabbiness. You get a really good feel for the peddle.
