Installed an HKS SSQV this weekend. I bought the evo 8 kit from vivid racing. the kit comes with everyting you need to VTA (vaccume hose extension, recirculation cap, SSQV, all clamps and hardware to do the job). Installed in about an hour and sounds amaizing ( stalling or drivability issues so far).
Wanted to say thanks to Vivid Racing for making the buying experience so great. Todd went out of his way to ensure I had the BOV before the weekend. VIVID = GREAT VENDOR TO WORK WITH!! Their customer service was outstanding (a nice change of pace after working with RnR racing
).

yea, I'm venting to the atmosphere. The only time I have noticed any drop in rpm is when the SSQV is engaged above 4k rpm and you immediately put it in neutral and allow the car to idle.
The idea is fairly simple: the mass airflow sensor meters air as it comes in via the intake. when the BOV engages, it vents that metered air to the atmosphere. Accordingly, the car runs rich momentairly. To get around this you can do several things:
1) switch to a map (this is what I will do in the future)
2) give the HKS EIDS a try - this is supposed to smooth the signal from the MAS when running a blow-off valve vents to atmosphere (more info: http://www.lancershop.com/hks_eids.htm)
3) dont allow the engine to idle immediately after the BOV engages (blows off) - this is fairly easy to do... simply requires a slight driving adjustment on your part.

No problem.
TampaTurbo has a good point though. The SSQV is fairly loud... it should be very audible even if you choose to recirculate.
Ev0 1 - I do not have any pictures yet. I’ll try and get a hold of a digital camera and post some in the next couple of days. It may not do much good because the HKS SSQV kit relocates the BOV to the right side of the intercooler piping, under the intake piping (opposite side compared to the stock location).

i can tell you right now unless you have an intake the forge recirc. is NOT as loud as a VTA. but if you have an intake you might as well just use the stock one (unless your having boosting holding issues) cuz it will sound pretty loud.
