weird whistle noise while accelerating??

hey.. just wanted some ppl's opinions on this:

tonite after messing around in my evo for a little bit, i was driving home on the highway and i noticed a sort of higher pitched whistle sound.. it was a constant drone as i had the gas down-- again normal driving on the highway.

this concerned me so i let up on the gas, and slowly the sound disapears and stops alltogether while there is no throttle. rpm's are still around 3k as im cruising on the highway not giving it gas.

but as i give it a little gas again it comes back... wth is this?!?

then i found that if i held the gas down at a certain throttle point, the noise started to sound almost like a metallic rattle..

im scared to death its something horrible like the transfer case..... any suggestions??

Same thing happened to me, you BOV is about to pop out, check you BOV, if you car is stock or near it, the stock IC pipes had almost NO attention paid to them as far as tightening was concerned. Check ALL your pipes especially now your BOV and make sure they are all where they are supposed to be. I bet you get little pops or tiny back fires too from the very rich condition you get now.

Holy crap - I forgot all about tailpipe whistles. I was living in Oakland when that was going on. Guys driving around in "scrapers" with the whistles. WhooOOOoo! That had to be the worst trend ever.
