clutch finally took a doo doo
Last night coming home from the drag strip.
I pretty much expected it to happen pretty soon since i have almost 11k miles and ive been to the strip a good bit. Probably 20 or so full out 1.7 and faster 60 foot launches. It didnt completely take a dump, but when i boost in a high gear it starts to slip around 4k. It willhopefully not slip as much when i turnt he boost down since i am boosting with race gas right now and its set at 24 psi.
I guess ill save up for a couple weeks and get a new clutch. My friend at the dealers hip told me that he will install a stock clutch for me so i can retain my warranty for ~$600 that includes the price of the new clutch and the price of the labor to install.
Should i stay with a stock clutch or should I get an aftermarket? I REALLY dont want to pay for a transfer case.

if you're going to insist on frequently drag launching the car you need to make a decision:
1) upgrade the stock clutch and punish other (more expensive) drivetrain components (judging by your statement about not wanting to buy a t/c I wouldn't recommend this)
2) install a new stock clutch and eventually smoke it doing drag launches
3) re-evaluate whether or not the 1.7s 60' sprints are really worth the cost of a clutch every 11k miles.
YMMV,
Greg
