BOV's and Problems

Okay, I have been hearing about tons of problems with people and their bov's making their cars stall. I have also been hearing about recirculation of the air? What are the problems you guys have been having? Is a bov worth the risk/problems and what are the benefits? I am lookin at he XS RFL-H because of its look and sound. What do you guys think? sorry for the noob question.

i have no problems with my Forge DV...

If you have doubt, just get the MR BoV...direct fit =)

Don't vta and buy the MR bov (dv).

The problems most have had with stalling is related to vent to atmosphere designs. I have not heard of anyone having this problem with any of the recirculating designs. I agree with binsquared get the MR it is louder than stock and if you have an open element air filter it's pretty loud and will not give you any problems. My opinion is to not go with a VTA it's not worth the hassle for the little noise unless you switch to Map set up. But to each there own it's your car and you paid for it so it up to you in the end.

You can adjust it to whatever you want, right now mine is set to 40 vent and 60 recirc, with no stalling. for those of you who like the sound too, it is still clearly audible with this setting.

I have a Greddy Type S VTA. I did have some almost stalling problems. I put on an HKS EIDS and the stalling problems are gone. I also have noted people blaming intakes for stalling issues as well. In my case I don't know if it was a combination of the two or what. The intake I have is the HKS RS. Hope this helps.

I've had Forge VTA and Injen open intake for over a month and have NOT stalled once.

I feel little surging at high boost, nothing serious thou... :)

I tend to disagree with you on MR. A few people (maybe more) including myself, have had near stalling issues's. I hate seeing the rpms go down to 100 and then bounce back to 900. I stalled once. I tightened the bov a bit more and it hasnt showed any signs of dipping more than 100 rpms. Then again, i onlydrove it for 25 minutes, as i am sure it will only be a matter of time. Hopefully a tune will alleviate this problem.

I purchased the worx tuning, no problems w/ the softest spring setting, similar to the GFB, but for 50.00 less.

I have one of the works/gfb bov's, and I do have a stalling issue. Works says that 10-15% of the cars they put these on do have some stalling or near stall issues. Most work great. Its not bad enough for me to get rid of the GFB bov however.

imo, the turbo xs' are a pain to tune... most use a washer setup to adjust spring tension... screw is much more convienent... no other issues with them... had one friend that had a rfl that had sealing issues, but, not every product is perfect and there will always be a 1 outta 50 have issues in the manufacturing process...
