Quick I Need O2 Sensor Help
 

Whats up everyone? I have a mitsubishi mirage 98 and I am finishing up my evo 5 swap on the car but I have a delema. I have a evo 8 o2 sensor that uses 4 wires and the evo 5 uses only 2 wires. It won't plug into my harness. I just bought this o2 sensor thinking that it would be the same but it is not so I was wondering before I go ahead and just buy an evo 5 o2 sensor. Is there any way I can rewire the o2 sensor with the harness some how? I know the evo 8 has 4 wires compared to my harness with 2 wires but maybe the evo 8 o2 sensor uses the extra 2 to get better readings or signal or what not?

Please if anyone can help me out I would GREATLY appreciate it. I am going to be starting up the car tomorrow.

Im guessing the extra two wires are for the heater circuit which heats up the sensor for a more accurate reading while the car is cold. You can probably get away without the heater circuit. Just compensate with an AF control of some sort I guess.

That is what I thought too. Do you happen to know what the wiring schematics is for the o2 sensor?

no but it's only 4 wires,2 for heater and 2 for sensor. I believe the blue is the + for the sensor. I'm sure the instructions for the wideband will have the layout
