Census 2004 - MBC or EBC's?

which of the two MBC (like Hallmans) or EBC's (like HKS EVC and Blitz EBC's) would you choose and why?

I personally would choose a MBC for the fact that its easy to set it and forget it. They are cheap, reliable and do the job.

I'm having a debate on another forum and they keep saying that MBCs are not reliable and don't give ACCURATE readings. What do you guys think :dunno:

I'd choose the HKS EVC cuz I have it...LOLz. Actually, it's a great unit and looks good! Very accurate but expensive. It has so many functions that I dunno how to use. Check out Jimbo's EVC.

im trying to make the same decision......i want the defi BF boost gauge that is going to cost me like 400 with the controler and then another 100 for a mbc....so i was thinking about the HKS evc 5 about the same price........do i need a boost gauge with the HKS or does it have one built in? Im also going to get the AEM UEGO Wideband 02 Gauge and a oil temps gauge.

thanks for the help

if your going to get a standalone or piggy back in the future like UTEC, AEM EMS, etc. - I don't think its worth dishing out $500+ for an EBC :thumbdown

exactly...stop being soooooo lazy and just get an MBC. I got the hallman pro in cabin control and i love it

EBC's have a great saftey (warning) feature. You set it and forget it. Think about it a MBC and a decent electronic boost guage will cost around 400. Why not have both in one unit plus extra features.

what warning will u need for an mbc - it doesnt do anything but stay at the boost level u set it to :)

its all about functionality your purpose is to set a desired boost level and drive,wether you want to spend 50 or 500 is up to you,i say mbc all the way like tokeone said dejon tools is cheap and problem free

Back in my drag racing days with my WRX. I used the SBC-ID from Blitz and a Drews device and the SBC-ID would spool the turbo quicker and hold more boost. So a EBC would give much more control over a MBC for boost but for 100 Hallman MBC you just can't go wrong.

MBC because it is cheaper and you can spend the money you save on other mods {thumbup}

400? How about 75 plus 43 = 120?

My Autometer boost gauge reads and displays boost just as accurately and clearly as any other gauge in existence. All gauges are only as good as the install.
