Crower Stg2 Street/strip Cams? Anyone got them?

I am looking for some feedback. Is anyone using the crower cams PN 64433-2 They are the street/strip cam Stg2. Hopefully a dyno sheet so I can see the torque curve also if you post a dyno sheet please include the type of dyno list of mods and the city and state it was in(or approx altitude). Hopefully someone can help. Maybe I will have to be the first one. :)

I think you need to be the first one :)

Yeah me too. The STG 2 street strip are supposed to be equivilent to 270s. So it will be a tiny bit less duration then the hks. But the HKS has a little lower lift too. The lift on the crowers is 11.7mm so I think it should give me more power then the HKS. And more power for less money is always good. :)

get them,and let us know the results {thumbup}

With that lift it seems as if you will need thinner retainers to keep from pounding the valve seals. Rolling things over by hand will not reveal the problem as it is dynamic rather than static in nature. What does Crower say as to the suitability of these cams on an Evo? I can't find any information about using their products on our cars.

dont know about on the Evo, but have used Crower cams in the past and they ROCK!!

Those seem pretty similar to the jun cam. I bet they're a lot less expensive though. I would guess you would need upgraded valvetrain also.

They say you do not NEED upgraded valvetrain until your get to stage 3. There is a sheet of the specs around. It does recommend them though.

If my math is correct the stage 2s only have 10.6 in/10.1ex lift. The stage 3s have 11.1in/10.8ex

bbbwrx Jan 19, 2005 08:11 PM

You are right
Crower In 10.668mm Ex 10.16mm
HKS 10.8mm 10.2mm

Guess my math was wrong ;)

hmmmmmmm make me think a little more about HKS. I wonder if .1 mm is worth the extra 200 bucks or so for the HKS.

Or take the 200 put new retainers on and run the stage 3's

BadazzCR Jan 20, 2005 07:11 AM

Funny how crower's stage 2 runs a 272 intake and 264 exhaust cam.

WildRice Jan 20, 2005 09:08 AM

That's a stage 2 intake and stage 1 exhaust 264 272 the way I read it. The duration for the exhaust is greater 218 vs 212 for the intake.

I know someone who is running them.. Don't know if he posts on here though. I will try to get him to post on this thread.
