264's or 272's or combo???

ok guys preverbial question... which cams would be best for me? been debating it for awhile and going to get cams in feb(don't tell girlfriend {thumbup} ) and trying to figure out which is best.. i have heard 264's are good for quicker speeds from start and 272's are good for higher horsepower.... and I know one of the AMS evos and he runs 272 intake and 264 exhaust which works well for him, but i'm still not sure what i should go with ???
here's my mods:
AEM intake
Bushur 3' downpipe
Bushur 3' TBE with delete pipe
UTEC system (currently running stock map b/c can't tune in snow {thumbdwn} )
Greddy Type S BOV
Pending ceramic coating- New Manifold

Both are pretty much the same. There's been lots of debating and 272s make few more horses with sacrifice to slightly slower spool and a bit less low-end TQ.
I went with 264s since they have nicer idle with almost no adjusting (272s can idle ok too but you have to adjust your cam gears).

Generally speaking, 264s to make power under 7K and 272s to make power over 7K. The stock turbo isn't good for much over 7K. So that kind of means that 264s for the stock turbo and 272s for an aftermarket turbo.

I don't know if this is the case but AMS did a good job comparing the different setups. I have 272/272 and I'm not complaining.

This subject has been hashed out ad nasium. Tex really said it all but to expand a bit, HKS recommends 264s for the street and 272s for race apps. Vishnu and other tuners use combos with cam timming adjustments.272s make slightly more power with minimal differences in spool up and a rougher idle. If you upgrade the turbo and do the supporting mods, 272s will shine. Combos will give various results if you dyno tune with adjustable cam sprokets. With your current tune you would not see much of a difference. I want a 400HP car that looks and sounds stock.. until its too late while others want a more intimidating rattle and roar type ride.

i've decided to go with 64's and then once get larger turbo go with 72's and cam gears.. i want to squeeze as much out as possible of the stock turbo as i can

I've got 272's. I like the lopey idle. I made just as much torque as hp on dynodynamics while tuning.
