Fighter's Garage LICP Warning!!
Today I pulled my bumper off to check the clamps on my IC pipes. I noticed that an AC hose going to the compressor was rubbing against the new Fighter's Garage LICP. On further inspection I saw that it was begining to wear through the AC hose. I would say within 6 months it would have worn right through the hose. I used some wire ties to pull the hose back towards the compressor and the problem was solved. I think a lot of people are going to have issues soon if they do not check this. Just thought that I would share {thumbup}

I will check mine today. Thanks for the heads up. BTW, my coating is chipping on the pipe around one of the welds, is yours still holding up?
|
Sorry about that, we simply ziptied the a/c line to the side. I forgot to add it to the tutorial but will do so immediately. On Wrick's pipe, we simply coated it with high temp paint because he wanted it right then and that finish has been holding up fine. That lower part of the car is susceptible to rocks and scrapes so you might want to give it a quick spray if you notice anything. Let me know if it becomes a concern and I will do my best to find a solution.

thanks for the warning :updown:

Are these pipes in stock? What's the deal?
|
That should be pretty much common knowledge to anyone installing ANY of the "LICPs" out there right now. Anytime you install an aftermarket part, naturally you need to verify fitment. At that time make any adjustments required to avoid any wear issues. Then, later recheck to make sure no others have developed.

That's an issue with the Buschur deluxe FMIC too.

Yeah, it sucks. We are in Destin as I type this preparing our beach house for the hurricane. It was fun playing in the surf yesterday though.....the waves were washing right up to the base of our staircase down to the beach :)

Sorry to hear about the storm.... Hope you guys will be ok. :( Can't wait for my LICP....
