Guys, I got to tell you. Abel Racing here in Oklahoma has done another fabulous job for me! Thanks Able.

Got my 272/272 cams installed and am very pleased. Reading so many posts about idling issues and tapping noises, I was very cautious when doing this upgrade. Happy to say, the job was completed with great results, no idling problems, and no tapping noises!!!!!

The best part......on a test run.......my car is ROCKETING through the entire rev range and is a MAJOR improvement in the higher RPMS!!! Where the previous set up was great.......this new set up picks up where the other tapered off. Plus, the lower end is stronger as well. I don't notice any turbo lag at all. With my 275/40(17x9.5 wide) Ecsta sticky auto-x tires on at all 4 corners, I spun all the tires and got the car sideways through an intersection launching from a stop....without dropping the clutch. Stunning!

Amazing the improvement over what I thought was already a fast car!

Not a drag racer......but going to drags tonight and will let you know. Ran 12.9 my first time a few weeks ago not dropping the clutch before the cams install.

Did not use cam gears! Any RACER I know says cam gears are the biggest waste of time and will always break! They are an extra piece you don't need.

Because Al at DynoFlash gave me a tune and Abel racing did a great install, cam gears aren't needed. If you have good people working on your stuff, you don't need cam gears.

Driving my car around town is same as it was stock! A slight notice of the way the car breaths at stop lights,,,,,,but you have to listen for it.

Again so how much power are you putting down?

If you have good people working on your stuff you don't need cam gears? Granted cam gears do not make a HUGE difference they can be very useful for moving the powerband slightly or smoothing out idle.

I agree. As for racers though, cam gears are not so dependable. I don't think a good tuner needs cam gears...........unless you are going with some crazy custom work or something.

OH, just back from the drags with my new 272's!

12.68 @ 109mph!

Before cams. Best was 12.9 @ 107-8mph.
