Greddy BOV's suck

Well, I finally discovered where my massive boost leak was happening at. I pulled off my Type RS BOV and took it apart to discover a huge hole in the rubber gasket. I then grabbed my old Type S that had stopped blowing off a while back, pulled it apart, and the gasket on it had holes in it as well. Time for a new BOV. I was thinking of going with the JDM MR BOV, but does anybody know how it will hold up to 30 psi?

it should hold, but you should look at the forge.

The JDM MR bov wont hold much more then the stock one. I had 2 friends that had them and they sold them and got the HKS...

just get the APS... APS is the only BOV that should be used on the EVO....

Terribly false; do not spread misinformation based off uneducated hearsay.

Vrrrmpssss, the JDM MR DV won't be good for 30psi. I'm not sure why you'll be running that much, but you will need something stronger. Here are some suggestions in NO PARTICULAR ORDER:

HKS SSQV (will hold as much boost as you want, but is difficult to tune/adjust perfectly)
APS
Forge

Consider trying one of those, but again, the JDM MR DV won't work for you...it's good up to 25psi only.

an MR is good to about 26 psi...after that, it leaks. But it is inexpensive, is a direct fit, is cheap and is virutally undetectable.

Super sequential is a great unit. There is no adjustment on it, so you can rule that part out...saves ALOT of time and potential troubleshooting. It does not recirculate as HKS ships it, but doing so is easy enough with the recirc fitting and some reinforced vacuum hose

I know this has been discussed so many times in this forum... but hey why not... so you guys are recommending..

JDM MR
FORGE
APS

Now I'm sure these are all great BOV's but.. any more options?... like as in the Tial.. can it be recirculated.. I want something to hold 26 psi... If I possibly decide to go with alky.. I'm going to boosting along those lines.

I currently have the HKS SSQ vented.. and I'm not very happy with it, Sure it sounds louder than anything around, when I drive by I brake everyones neck.. but it's not worth the drivability (kinda sucks) and also makes your car run too rich.. It's ok if you have light mods, but I found out the hard way it's not what your looking for on the performance side.

aps. no one has ever complained about it. the quality is amazing.

Z1 Performance Oct 15, 2005 08:56 PM

recirculate it and keep what you have...it will work as intended
