Dyno Tested Buschur Racing's 20g

Got a chance to test Buschur Racings 20g bolton turbo upgrader yesturday and made some great gains in the upper rpms with it. This turbo spools alot like stock maybe 200-300rpms slower and doesn't fall off as much at redline.

The car tested was a 2005 Evo MR, full Buschur Stg4 + AEM EMS.

Run# 8 was with the stock MR turbo from a previous day.

Run# 5 is the same car same mods only difference is the BR 20g turbo

You can see from the graph that after 5,5k rpms the 20g make huge gains 20-25hp. I would expect to see an even larger gain over a stock 03 evo turbo than this MR's.

Edited with graph showing both turbos at same boost level.

Doug,

I can't see the dyno graph.

fixed picture.

Thanks for the test Doug. The turbo is more linear as some of the hit is taken away with it. Did you happen to graph boost on both runs? I am guessing the large torque number with the stock turbo is from the big boost they hit and then settle down as the 20G comes in smoother without a big boost spike, do you agree?

Thanks again for the test and post.

Sure do...
to get those numbers on the stock turbo the boost spiked to 28psi and then fell to 19-20psi.. Where as the 20g is more linear and requires less of a boost spike down low 25psi holding to 22-23psi at redline.

I have to assume thats on Meth or race gas at higher boost? I'm curious about the run's details and fuel type..

BadazzCR Oct 26, 2005 08:49 AM

Correct Pumpgas with meth injection.

Ev0ikon Oct 26, 2005 08:57 AM

Doug, can we please see a graph with the G20 spike to 30 PSI?
This one looks delicious :}

Nice! {thumbup}

Just curious but did you miss the spooling and TQ from the stock turbo :lol:

That's the kinda TQ and HP I would like to have on my 03 with BRs4 stock turbo and alky.

aps Oct 26, 2005 09:08 AM

Hımm just 20-25hp ı think a little low result.I expect nearly 30whp

VTECH8TR Oct 26, 2005 09:10 AM

Damn sweet #'s Doug.

fury656 Oct 26, 2005 09:26 AM

Very impressive numbers. Major gains across at a much safer boost level for the car and the turbo. I think us modified stock turbo guys need a support group from the masses. :lol:

Im assuming that the 20g graph is tuned?

ruzs Oct 26, 2005 10:27 AM

20g

That seems a bit low to me as far as gains are concerned. there is a loss of power and torque all the way up to 5.5k rpm. The los ranges form 25 to almost 50 hp. That is consierable on the street. The gains of 20 or so hp from 5.5k on may not corelate to a huge satisfaction. It may be better to invest a bit more in a 3071R kit. I know it is twice as much money, but it just seems that way to me. If it made 50 or 60 hp more on top, now that would be another story.
