New to turbo's, interpreting the boost gauge
just installed my boost gauge and just trying to see if this thing is reading correctly as it is very active. I wasn't expecting it to be so active....
It's a VDO Vision vaccuum/boost gauge from 42draft designs. With the engine off, the needle sits slightly lower than 0. With the engine on, at idle the vaccuum sits around 20 in/hg Just cruising, no accelleration, vaccuum sits around 10 in/hg WOT, it'll go to roughly 18-19 psi and taper off to 16 or so @ redline. Engine braking, vaccuum is around 25 in/hg or so Does this sound like "normal" #'s? Thanks in advance. -Chee |
