Yaw Control Feature On Jdm And Uk Evo's ?
 

What is the yaw control feature that comes stock on JDM and UK Evo's? And can it be installed on USDM versions?

If you have the money it is possible.

and yes i believe you can install it on a usdm car. but i remember correctly alot of people were actually removing them from their cars because they tend to break pretty quickly.

From what i heard they have to be serviced a lot. But man, when its working right that has to be the edge on a road course!

Yeah, I KNOW!!! I saw a video from the UK of one drifting with the yaw control and the lady (that's right guys lady) was semlessly drifting in and out of corners with absalutly no effort. She said the car was pretty much doing all the work. It looked so sexy!!!!!

its a great tool for racing, when its not breaking.. and there has seem to have been some probs.. nothing a fat wallet cant fix.. acd= front to rear torque, yaw= left to right torgue split.. basically a better version of subarus a.w.d. but lesser than the attessa awd, on skylines..

I'm no expert as I've not long had my IX GT (JDM import in uk) for that long (month or so) and it doesnt have AYC, but from reading a lot of posts on the UK lancer forums the AYC can bite back big style if you get into a bend a little hot and back off. I suggest a read of an AYC search on http://www.lancerregister.com . It might just be the grass is always greener.
PS the IX GT does its own version of YAW control its created by the right foot and turbo torque boost :D

The reason why we don't get the agressive stuff from other countries is because our market demand hasn't change much, the mentality is still the same here, 95% of the typical american still prefers flat front seats, don't care about having a tachometer, don'tmind driving an automatic and prefer other" comfort issues" like multiple stupid trays to put donuts and silly note pads and all that kind of stuff.

The day the American industry and the american market start thinking the word Sport then you will see the big change:

American cars starting to be built with independent suspension
american cars being build with 4 wheel disc brakes
American cars built with decent sport seats
with tachometer
with lower profile tires and a bit stiffer suspension
start making engines with some efficienc 70-80hp per liter and above

The list goes on and on. Sorry that I am going a bit off topic but the reality is that the ideal mentality of a average american is bigger better, and I want something cheap: F150 truck(best seller), that explains all. Go outside your house, what kind of cars are parked outside?, you will see SUV, trucks and minivans and that brings me to the point that the manufacturers see the sales statistic and they figure out that is not worth bringing the refine cars here because they try to fit the demand of the american customer.

Buying Ford Excursions and putting 22" rims defeat the purpose of a SUV, the moment you put 22" rims low profile tires you no longer have a efficient SUV.
The moment you have a Pick-up truck and you drop it a few inches, you are no longer capable of going off-road anymore.

The mentality has to change, foreign manufacturer adapt to our demands and they see we rather have SUV and pick up truck so what do they do:

Volkswagen makes the VW Touaeg
Nissan makes the Armada
Nissan makes the Titan
Nissan makes the murano
Evn Honda makes the ridgeliner
Mitsubishi makes the rider

and so on(sorry, I am not too good with SUV). I hope I haven't confuse anyone here, my point was that we hardly will see an AYDC on a production Evo car in the USA.:D :dunno:
