What's with Buschur Racing's dyno....with dyno sheet of RS.
Hey all,
Well as some of you know or have read last week I spent 4 days in classes for the Mustang Dyno and EFI tuning. Very interesting, both classes. Anyway as I sat there I was noticing things that I didn't think were ever done while it was being set up. This weekend one of the guys came out and checked over our install and setup. Everything checked out perfectly. I told him, "Well, I guess it is what it is then, I'd rather have it low than to cheat on it." I dyno'd the RS today. I did a lot of work on the boost control feedback and have it about 98%. The 20G-9 is an interesting turbo. For those of you that own it there are some interesting limits and ways to make the most power with it. Number one, don't try to wing it for all it's worth. You will not make any extra power. Seems as though both wheels, the 5 blade and 6 blade both like a maximum peak of 28 psi and then let them fall off to 24-25 psi at 7000 rpm. This is ideal. It actually keeps the turbo in it's peak efficiency this way. Below is the dyno sheet from today after a couple of hours of playing with the boost control. The peak boost on this pull was 27.8 psi and the car had 25 psi at 7,000 rpm. I'm very pleased with the numbers. I had to finally break down and take the car down the road today. Daniel and Trent both drove it, I just rode along. The car is powerful, that's pretty much describes it. It never stops pulling and that 450 ft lbs of torque at 3800 can be felt in your neck for sure;) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...od/RSSheet.jpg Enjoy, David Buschur www.buschurracing.com |
Dave,
Can you post up bigger sheets for us blind folk? I have to save it then make it bigger so I can see the numbers. Good numbers BTW! {thumbup} |
do you do 4th gear pulls with your RS, are your dyno numbers so high because you changed your final drive gearing?!
|
David, I presume your Rs is at Stage4 along with this turbo ?
|
So...you dropped in a stroker over the weekend? ;)
|
Nice job holding the power that far.
|
Awesome!!! That car was amazing before, you just keep 'em coming David. Always working on making great better. Congrats.

I am sure that I know the answer to this question, but I presume that is on race gas or a mixture? Did you bother to dyno it on pump gas?
The only reason that I am asking is, I dont think we have yet to see a good result from this turbo on full bolt on Evo 03-05 on pump. If there is a good result that I simply missed somewhere, please let me know so I can read up on it. Dave, I am not trying to complaing or start any **** about your products or testing. I am simply looking for certain tests/results for an application that I would be running. Thanks, Nathan |
That is now the only type of dyno sheet I can print, it is the new MD software. You are right, it is not very clear. We scan them first, sorry.
The final drive in my RS is stock, it was changed for the C&D shootout but has been stock for about 6 months now. I dyno the car in the 3rd gear, we do all cars in 3rd gear. The car is at Stage 4 +++++++++++++++++++++++++. This was done on race gas. Last time the car was on the dyno with 94 octane it had the HKS cams in it and made 348 whp and about that same torque. I have not dyno'd it on pump gas with the new Revolvers, that is where this extra power/torque is coming from. I disagree with not seeing good results on pump gas. We have had multiple cars go over 300 whp on our dyno (which is a lot on our dyno) with just basic Stage 4 and a flash. I just tuned a customers car that made 365/375 with race gas with 272 cams, no head work, stock intake and stock throttle body. A lot left in that tune. On pump gas and very very sissy tune the car made 317/315. David Buschur www.buschurracing.com |
Dave I always look forward to your posts of your testing and reading everything you have to say again great work and keep the information coming.
|
Really amazing looking dyno sheet - this car should be very fast in the 1/4 - cant wait to see it run this summer
|
badaass.... That torque must be insane on the street

I am still confused by these dyno numbers but I think you said before that they are 50WHP LESS then a normal Dynojet that say AL would run?
What kind of Trap speeds would someone with 365/375 on your dyno expect to run? Thanks Dave. |

I don't know which has been harder...waiting to pick up the EVO when I first bought it...or waiting to bring it out to get stage 4+++++ These next two weeks are going to take forever
