Cusco LSD's for IX
Does anyone have part #'s for Cusco LSD's for the IX MR (Stateside)? Looking for the RZ or MZ LSDs, 1 way front, 1.5 way rear. I tried looking on the Cusco Japan website and didn't have much luck and Nukabe doesn't have a listing for these items. Any help would be appreciated.

It would be the same for the VII, VIII and IX. I think the Vishnu car has those diffs, call them up they can probably get them for you. I hope you plan on only open tracking or racing that car, you'll hate it on the street with those diffs.

What would make them bad on the street? The only downside I can think off is a slightly harsher engagement then the stock units. I'm planning on going with the setup above with the RZ 1 way up front and a MZ 1.5 in the rear. I do track my car a lot, but I'm also subject to getting bored and driving it to work a few times a month. Please post what issues YOU have had with them.

they don't make them all for the US car - front diff is different (modding needed to make it fit....any experienced installer (Sheppard and others) can do it. Rear diff is offered and is a bolt in as far as I am aware

newb question here, but doesnt the EVO IX have an LSD ?
|
its not like you are locking the differential(that makes slow turning suck), i dont see how you wouldnt like it on the street.

but i am not going with cusco anymore, i am getting my stock one rebuild by shepherd :D |
I had a Cusco 1.5 lsd in my wrx. It was crazy how they engage, and grab around turns. When i was driving in Car gargaes, going around and up those ramps in side my rear tears would always be swealing like i was burning out.
the reason i got a after market diff, is my stock went bye bye. i would get one for my evo if it comes down to it. |
if you are asking ANY questions about the cosco lsd's on this forum then they are not for you.

Leif - that's not true at all - questions are how people learn things...don't assume everyone knows everything about everything
The reason your diffs behaved like that is how you had them set. The Cusco diffs all come preset at 100% lockup - this is adjustable down to 80% and 60% - the higher the lockup %, the more unfriendly it will be around town. I have an RS 1,5 way diff in my 350Z, and you absolutely cannot tell the difference in noise at all from my stock Viscous limited slip - it is all in how you set it |
