why aren't there many short shifters for the mr
why is it that there is ss out there for the rs and gsr, but for the mr you have to go to cali. to works so they can do the install in house. What is the reasoning for this, is it that the design of the shifter is hard to make for a six speed or, is it harder to adjust correctly or something. Sorry for the dumb question but I was just curious on why the lack of ss for the mr. thanks

The answer is very very simple. Drive a MR then rethink if you need a short throw shifter. The MR shifting is perhaps one of the best achieved improvement on the Evo, virtually smooth as silk, easy to engage, short throw and it comes from factory counter weight balance mate with teflon coated cables.
Works makes one upgrade short throw shifter but unfortunately they don't sell them to the public unless they install it for you on their shop in Cali. Ask any Evo MR owner if they have any complaints on their shifting, I bet no one ever complained. Carlos |
It's because of the reverse lockout. IT's no simple task.
