It's Killing Me!! Help!!
i put in a 3" inch dp, now have noticible gain thru the whole power band. HOWEVER i smile GAS and dead air in the car.... :crap: killing me...
i went to a local muffler shop and have them check the leak visually. then we spot the gasket behind the stock cat blew. so we replaced the gasket....so i'm like cool. only found out it didn't solve the problem...whenever i step on the gas, i smile gas...making me dizzy...did a search....not sure if it's the donut connecting the outlet and the dp is blew....only gasket came with dp is the one between the dp and cat...that one is good...please let me know guys ...is it just the gasket between the turbo outlet and the dp causing this??! :helpme: |
If the turbo to dp gasket isn't seated right you could be getting the smell your are describing...

Me too! I also like to smile at my gas! Like the above says, check the gaskets.

That gas must be making you dizzy.... and illiterate. I think you smell the gas not, smile it. Unless maybe you're talking about your nitrous bottle leaking or something. J/K :D I'm guessing English is not your first language and I shouldn't be giving you a hard time. At least that's what I'm hoping for.
As said above check your donut gasket to the DP from the turbo and make sure the bolts are tight. Also check to make sure you don't have any restrictions like a melted cat or something stuffed in the muffler since you blew out one gasket. |
so gas smell makes you smile? ha jk
|
Part paranoia I think... ;)
Just retorque all the bolts and you should be good to go. {thumbup} |
My buddy had this happen to him not long after he got his 05....the previous owner had put 87 octane in it and the cat was toast....mitsu replaced it under warranty i believe.

As for the current issue at hand, I've only experienced similar conditions with naturally aspirated engines, so I doubt any input of mine would help. |
:lol: i didn't even know i put "smile". funny. anyways bump to get more feedback.... {thumbup}
